We took a 40 minute drive from Wagga Wagga to The Rock for a Rollup.
(The Rock)
We were surprised that for a tiny town the bowling club was very nice - and open!
A nice old bloke Kevin was having RYO smoke on the green when we arrived. We said we were after a rollup so he said he'd go and get us a mat and jacks from the shed. He said "Just leave them there when you're done. I'll put them away." Bowlers like it when you roll up on their green. He gave us a wave as we left.
(Kevin and his mate)
There were 2 greens, one overgrown and a beautiful synthetic.
Nice carpet to bowl on, except for the sand on our bowls. Not much of a problem though.
We played a game of singles. We got there at 12:50 and agreed to stop at 1:30 because Malcolm promised his Mum Lorna's best friend (Aunty Nerida) we'd visit after 2pm.
Jean took first blood with a single then got a couple of 3's. Mal kept just pegging back.
Jean's second 3 was pretty impressive with a nice tight head. She said "I can bowl you know".
Mal stepped up to the mat and said "So can I!" as he took out Jean's shot bowl. It was all over after that. Mal does it again!
We took over a scoreboard. Mal was Baz, Jean was Fernando.
Thanks for the hospitality The Rock!
